Tate Kobang, an underrated but incredibly inventive rapper from Baltimore, shared his new project Tate Ko, earlier this week. The varied album is chock full of interesting experiments, including collaborations with Swizz Beatz and Young Money Yawn, as well as a lot of self-production from Tate. "Don't Matter," which Tate co-produced with Millz Douglas, is one of the hardest but also most surprising tracks.
While it checks the box of shaking any car its played in, the song is also filled with unpredictable rhythms and flows, as Tate matches the flurried energy of the dancing synth line with his vocals. It inspires the same physical reaction as hits like Bobby Shmurda's "Hoy Boy" or Drake's "0 To 100," while playing to Tate's unique strengths at the same time.
