It’s been seven years since we last received a project from R&B star Maxwell, but thankfully that streak ends here today. With the clock striking midnight, Maxwell releases his new album blackSUMMERS’night on iTunes.
Serving as the second volume in the album’s trilogy series, the project comes with12 records in total and all of which feature Maxwell by himself. He recently told The Wall Street Journal that the album is “loosely based on the concept of a night out for a woman named Black Summers,” before later adding that the final album of the three, which is nearly finished, would have "a political slant."
Having already heard singles like “Gods” & “1990x,” fans can stream the rest of the album for free thanks to the good folks at Spotify.
