Glacier Boyz, Lil Yachty's joint mixtape with Gucci Mane and Migos, was originally announced with a release date of April 13th. As of August 6th, there's still no sign of the project. In an interview with Rap-Up, Yachty explained what happened to the tape, which coincidentally, seems it was all about quality control.

“We had hella songs, but some of them just wasn’t up to par,” he said. Considering the Migos hot streak, it was decided that the material simply wasn't good enough to release. “They had just dropped Culture II, I didn’t want to put no crap out.” At this point, it's unclear if the project will ever be released.

Later in the interview, he shared some thoughts on XXXTentacion's death. While X was a controversial figure with disturbing allegations of domestic abuse tied to him, Yachty has chosen to remember his friend through his more positive qualities. “It’s made me want to be a better person in life,” he said. “I kinda just want to pick up where he left off. He was trying to do so many positive things for the community. He wanted to have a helping hand everywhere. I kinda want to take that legacy and really do something with it.”

Earlier this year, Lil Yachty released Lil Boat 2. Read our review here.
