A few months back, Atlanta rapper Father went on a live stream and gave the fans a sneak peak of his upcoming collaboration with Lil Yachty. While many people were wondering when the collab would be releasing, today the song finally surfaces. Surprisingly enough, both rappers have yet to collaborate however, the two now touch some meltycanon production for a wavy new song.
The first half of the song has Lil Yachty taking on the video game inspired production before Father comes in on the second half. The two rappers have some great chemistry and the track and their off-kilter styles really match up over this production. With some uptempo keys and some kicking bass, this song is bound to have your head bobbing and possibly dabbing, if you're into that. In all honesty, it's surprising that the two haven't linked up until this song. The two are relatively prominent figures within Atlanta hip hop, however their music don't fill in the stereotype. Nonetheless, it's nice to finally see the two link up and drop some flames.
meltycanon is a young producer with his own distinct sound. He and Father have worked previously on his song "Heartthrob" which bares similarities to "Dreamboat Freestyle." While this is the first time that meltycanon has worked with Lil Yachty, hopefully we hear more from the two in the future.
While Father's been relatively quiet in the public eye throughout the majority of this year, Yachty has been hard at work. This song serves as the second feature verse he dropped in two days. Yesterday he released a collaboration alongside Ski Mask the Slump God and A$AP Ferg. He also made an appearance on both A$AP Ferg's tape, Still Striving and A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 in August. He also recently announced that he'd be dropping the sequel to Lil Boat.
