It's been a great week for Lil Wayne. The rapper finally reached a settlement with Cash Money in their ongoing legal battle. Wayne is finally liberated from his Cash Money contract and he's also free to release his highly anticipated Tha Carter V. A few days after, he celebrated the 10 year anniversary of his magnum opus, Tha Carter III with a performance at Hot 97's Summer Jam. Unfortunately, it seems as if he has other legal issues he has to take care of.
Andrew Nunemacher, a security guard for a nightclub, filed a lawsuit against Lil Wayne last year and accused the "Lollipop" rapper of committing a hate crime against him. He says he was working at the front door when Weezy and his team came to a BET Awards after-party at Hyde nightclub. He claims Wayne punched him and threw a glass filled with liquor at his face and said, "F*ck you white boy!" He believes his words made it a hate crime because the assault was at least a little driven by his “Caucasian ancestry and descent.”
However, Lil Wayne is completely denying that he committed a hate crime, The Blast reports. He also denies that he ever assaulted the security guard in the first place. The rapper says that he acted in a "careful" and "reasonable" manner. He also says Nunemacher knew about the possible risks of the job when he took it.
Now, Weezy argues that the security guards alleged injuries were due to self-defense. He also says those injuries are due to Nunemacher's carelessness and negligence.
Nunemacher sued Lil Wayne, his record label and the nightclub for unspecified damages for the assault and battery. He also wants a $25K civil penalty added for Wayne's alleged hate crime.
Lil Wayne wants the lawsuit completely dismissed. The case is still ongoing.
