Lil Wayne's recent bout of seizures has been felt by the hip-hop community at large.
Lil Wayne recently pulled off another successful Lil Weezyana Fest out in his hometown of New Orleans. The event was live-streamed by TIDAL, and of course, featured a performance from Weezy himself, as well as Gucci Mane, Youngboy NBA, Rich the Kid and Kodie Shane. If you managed to catch him at Lil Weezyana, it might be a minute before he's able to perform again, as he recovers from a recent seizure attack.
Reports surfaced over the weekend that Wayne had suffered a seizure while in Chicago. If you're not up to speed (we'll forgive you, because Labour Day weekend), Wayne was found unconscious in his hotel room, where he was then rushed to Northwestern Memorial, and suffered another seizure attack at the hospital. He was supposed to perform in Las Vegas at Drai's Nightclub on Sunday, and despite his team's best efforts to get him there, the doctors reportedly advised against it-- ultimately the appearance was cancelled. Wayne's team has yet to release an official statement, although Drai's did release a statement wishing Weezy F a speedy recovery.
The seizures were reportedly caused due to Wayne's lean-sipping habit, although the rapper did reveal that he suffers from epilepsy a few years ago. With news of the seizures, artists have been responding, whether it be on social media or through TMZ's video cameras.
The Biebz heard the news of Wayne's seizures for the first time via the paparazzo, and says he's got to reach out. "I'm gunna have to reach out to him," he says, "that's my boy."
Lil Wayne's daughter updated all the fans last night as well, assuring us her dad is doing "fine." In music news, Wayne recently said he can drop Tha Carter V "whenever," but while we wait, here's the most up-to-date "everything we know."
