This weekend has the makings of a truly historic one in the world of hip-hop. Lil Wayne finally released his long-awaited Tha Carter V and, normally, that would be enough to call it a day. However, we also received projects from Kevin Gates, Logic, and others. We're additionally going to be bumping some new Kanye West tomorrow night. An already great year in music just got a lot better in the course of a few days. Of course, Lil Wayne is the talk of the town right now and anybody attending this year's Austin City Limits festival has to be feeling excited about this announcement.
After injuring his foot, Childish Gambino had to postpone all of his upcoming performances. The blow of his absence from ACL Festival was large but, somehow, the organizers figured out a way to make the last-minute changes worthwhile. A Twitter account dedicated to the festival tweeted out some news, writing, "We're celebrating Lil Wayne's Birthday today in the best way possible. We're adding him to the Saturday, Weekend 2 #ACLFest Lineup!"
The lineup already includes big names like Travis Scott, Khalid, and Paul McCartney. The addition of Lil Wayne comes at the perfect time as everybody is checking out his latest album. Weezy will be performing on October 13. Check out the updated lineup here.
