Rolling Loud issues a statement about Lil Wayne's cancelled performance.
Rolling Loud consists of some of the best line up for any fan of hip hop. Over the past few years, they've built one of the most outstanding festivals consisting of some of the hottest rappers in the game. Over the weekend, Rolling Loud Miami took place with artists like Future, Post Malone and more taking the stage. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne was expected to headline Sunday's set but ended up cancelling within a few minutes ahead of his scheduled performance. Rolling Loud has issued a statement and gave some insight as to why Weezy's set was cancelled.
Ahead of Lil Wayne's scheduled performance, the organizers announced that Wayne would not be touching the stage due to unforeseen circumstances. In a press release, they explained that Lil Wayne's set cancellation was due to an illness. However, they're still hoping to have him touch the Rolling Loud stage int he future.
Last night, Lil Wayne fell unexpectedly ill ahead of his set time and had to cancel his appearance at Rolling Loud Miami. We apologize to the fans and hope that some of the special guest appearances throughout the weekend, such as Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Diddy, A$AP Rocky, hometown hero DJ Khaled, the Waffle House Hero, and the two baristas fired by Duke made for an enjoyable experience. We have a longstanding and healthy partnership with Lil Wayne and his team, and look forward to continuing to work with him and having him on a Rolling Loud stage in the near future.
Lil Wayne has faced some serious health issues over the years which has previously prevented him from performing. Last year, he cancelled a performance in Las Vegas after he reportedly suffered multiple seizures. Thusfar, there hasn't been any word on why he felt unexpectedly ill but we hope Wayne's doing better.
