Since being adopted as the motto of the LAPD, "To protect and serve" has been used by many other police departments around the country. Lately, many have questioned the accuracy of that statement, especially after six cops have been charged in a homicide case. Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Durk's new song "Pressure" asks just that: "How they gon' serve and protect us?"

Over horns that sound more mournful than triumphant, the two young MCs offer "rest in peace"s to Freddie Gray, admit that the scene outside their windows and on their TV screens "looks like a bad dream" and sadly recall that "they been hangin' us for centuries." It's awesome to see two guy often pegged as trappers (or in Durk's case, a drill artist) tackle the tough issues.

Quotable Lyrics

Actually that shit been happenin'
They been hangin' us for centuries
That shit happened from beginning
Hang us straight from the ceiling
That which you call lynchin'
Keeps unfolding with extensions
