Lil Uzi Vert's career has been on pause for the last few months as he has reportedly been at odds with his label over the fate of his forthcoming record, Eternal Atake. Then news dropped that the rapper signed a management deal with Roc Nation, an agreement that would help in getting the artist back into the studio. Uzi's label heads DJ Drama and Don Cannon were criticized on social media, particularly when it came to Vert not being featured on NAV's Bad Habits because they allegedly wouldn't clear his verse. Since then they seemed to have given Vert the green light to continue making music and Drama said he could drop Eternal Atake whenever he liked.
United Masters, a company that aids independent artists in the distribution of their work, shared an update about Vert's relationship with his label, but it didn't sit well with Cannon. "@liluzivert sends more shots at his record label and thanks Roc Nation for getting him back in the studio," the company wrote. Cannon slid in the comments and replied, "This a gossip blog or a distribution company? I'm confused."

The company made sure to set things straight for the Generation Now CEO. "@doncannon A distribution company that reports on industry news relevant to our mission," United Masters wrote. "Sharing what Uzi said isn't gossip. We didn't make anything up or add our opinion. Hopefully y'all can figure this out." When DJ Akademiks shared the exchange on Instagram, however, the company commented, "Free Uzi."
Meanwhile, Uzi did a slight edit to a photo of Drama with his new artist, rapper Jack Harlow, but putting a clown emoji over Harlow's face.
