At a recent Q&A, Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti fielded questions from an eager audience. When one fan asked Playboi Carti why he still hadn't released a debut mixtape, Lil Uzi saw an opening.
"Yeah for real, I don't even know how he famous," the Philly emcee said in a playful tone. "He don't even have no tape. How the fuck is you famous?" This seemed to encourage the fan who shouted, "Come clean for the people."
Carti tried to calm things down and offer excuses.
"Honestly ya'll, I didn't come in the game trying to make a mixtape," the Atlanta rapper answered. But the "Bad and Boujee" rapper wouldn't let him off the hook so easily.
"He won't drop it cause that shit wack," he said. Carti again tried to defend himself saying that his "mixtape too fire" compared to other rappers' projects he's listened to.
"You steal another nigga's swag," Uzi said.
We don't know when Carti's tape will drop but at least Uzi's merciless taunts revealed that he is working on something. Watch the exchange in the video below and interviews we did with both rappers.
