Lil Pump's claim that he dropped out of Harvard to "save the rap game" (despite being too young to attend university) has become a meme within his fanbase, and Pump will continue the legend with his next project. The "Gucci Gang" rapper has announced the Harvard Dropout tape in posts on Twitter and Instagram.

Harvard Dropout will follow the rapper's debut mixtape, Lil Pump, released last October. The tape launched at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling 46,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

Though he signed with Warner Bros. last year, Pump has recently become independent once again after he was able to opt out of his deal due to signing as a minor (he's 17). The rapper is currently shopping around for the best deal, most recently claiming that he's looking for no less than $15 million. "New deals on the way, bitch!" he said. "If you ain't got 15 [million], don't talk to me, bitch! I don't want no meetings unless you talkin' 15 and up!"

There's been an increased interest in Pump since his single "Gucci Gang" soared to No. 3 on the Hot 100. Both DJ Khaled and Gucci Mane have considered signing him.

It's unclear if Pump's next project will be an independent release or whether the rapper will have found an adequate deal by then. Either way, he promises it's "coming soon."

Pump's independent status hasn't stopped him from releasing music so far. He teamed up with Carnage on his "i Shyne" single just last week.
