Lil Bibby’s forthcoming “Free Crack 4” is slowly making its way toward an official release. It was in August that he first announced that the project was finally complete, posting a photo of himself sipping wine, simply writing “FC4 is finished,” and now he’s returned to double down.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a photo of himself onstage in front of a seemingly packed crowd, with the caption reading “FC4 on the way, be patient 🙏🏽🙌🏽❗️ Jus waiting on a few clearances, can’t wait to [sic] y’all hear this 🔥🔥.”

Upon its arrival, Free Crack 4 will serve as Lil Bibby's major label debut under Sony’s Kemosabe Records imprint, the label formerly headed up by controversial producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald.

The previous iterations of the Free Crack series all functioned as mixtapes with the latest Free Crack 3 having arrived back in November of 2015. Given the series’ tendency to release around this time of year with Free Crack dropping in November 2013, and Free Crack 2 arriving in August 2014, it’s safe to assume that FC4’s drop is definitely around the corner despite a few delays.

Until then, Bibby has satiated his following with a few drops this year that included the 5-track FC3: The Epilogue released back in March and a few singles here and there, including his “Gotta Have Some More” collab with Tink and his summer drop “Free Crack 4 Intro." Earlier in the year, Bibby previewed some new music in some now-deleted Instagram posts, hinting in the captions that they'd be found on FC4. Without those snippets, most of what we expect to hear on the new album will be left up to imagination for now.

Outside of FC4, Lil Bibby is also cooking up a joint project in the form of No Limitations alongside frequent collaborator and fellow Chi-Town rapper G Herbo, whose Humble Beast debut arrived in September.
