The Based God curse has given Kevin Durant and James Harden fits for years. This year was particularly trying; Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder collapsed to Lil B's hometown Warriors in the Western Conference Finals and James Harden earned the dubious honor of attaining the NBA single-season turnover record Lil B took full credit).
Lil B appeared on Sportsnation today to speak on what Durant and Harden must do to lift the curse. He said that if Durant leaves the Thunder, the curse will travel with him to his new team. When asked if the Clippers, the Knicks, or Austin Rivers were cursed, Lil B said that they were not.
But what about D'Angelo Russell?
"He is officially cursed," Lil B said.
This very well may be the nail in the coffin for D'Angelo Russell. Though the Based God did not offer an explanation for his decision to curse Russell, he did shoutout Nick Young and Iggy Azalea. Russell famously snitched on Young for cheating on Azalea earlier this season. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together.
RIP D'Angelo Russell's career.
