LeBron James dropped 33 points on the New Orleans Pelicans last night in a game that the Lakers needed to win in order to stay alive in the playoff race. While LeBron has been holding his own on offense, some believe that his defensive play has been lacking this season. In a recent interview, James spoke about that and how he feels about teams singling him out when they're on offense.
"I mean, every team has the right if they want to single me out defensively. Come on with it," James told Yahoo Sports. "Hey, listen, come on with it. Every team has the right to be like, 'Oh, 'Bron's over there.' Hey, just come on with it. … We'll see what happens."
As for the criticism, LeBron doesn't seem to be too phased by it. Considering he's been in the league for 16 seasons, he's probably used to all the noise.
"I really don't care. Criticism doesn't bother me," James said. "I love to play the game and my teammates know what I do for them and that's all that matters. … The only thing motivating me is how I can try to help my teammates be successful and trying to win ball games."
The Lakers are three games out of a playoff spot with a record of 30-31, which puts them ranked 10th in the Western Conference.
