During a game on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James went down with a groin injury. James hasn't played since then and will have to miss at least another week of action, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Lakers released Thursday.

Per Lakers:

"LeBron James was evaluated by team medical staff and physicians today. The healing of James’ groin injury is progressing and James has been cleared to increase on-court functional basketball movements. A further update will be provided on January 16."

So far the Lakers are 3-5 without James in the lineup and are traveling to Utah on Friday for a match against the Jazz. Between now and the 16th, he will also miss a game against his former squad, the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, as well as a game against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

The Lakers sit at a record of 23-19 and hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
