LeBron James is set to begin filming Space Jam 2 this Summer, but he's reportedly having some issues locking in a supporting cast. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, casting "top guys" for the roles of NBA players in Space Jam 2 has proven more difficult than expected.

Windhorst didn't mention any specific players that 'Bron has reached out to, but he relayed the following on a recent episode of "The Jump."

"In all honesty, he's been recruiting players to come and try to be in Space Jam with him this Summer, and he hasn't been able to close some of those deals."

If Space Jam 2 follows the same general theme of the original, LeBron will need at least five NBA stars who are willing to have their talents milked by the Monstars. In the first film, those players were Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues and Shawn Bradley.

Of course, finding a squad to play for the Monstars in Space Jam 2 isn't the only concern for LeBron this summer - he also needs to recruit some talent to the Lakers.

What we do know: LeBron won't be slacking on his off-season training while he's filming the movie. According to The Athletic's Joe Vardon, there are plans to build a full basketball court on the set of Space Jam 2 so the four-time NBA MVP doesn't miss out on his summer training regimen. Michael Jordan did the same when he filmed the original movie.
