Florida rapper Lajan Slim, recently inked a deal with Def Jam, and this week he's released his new mixtape, Hood Olympian. Present on the project is the buzzing single, "Haitans," as well as a selection of new records, including "Run It Up." Less minimal than his breakthrough single, this one is all about momentum. Like many fellow Floridians, Lajan favors a Lord Infamous-influenced triplet flow. Paired with the emotional tension in his rhymes, it gives the record a certain urgency that makes it impossible to look away from.
