The NBA season will tip off in less than two weeks, but it doesn't look like Kyrie Irving's new signature sneaks will be ready for opening night. Kyrie says he plans on wearing the Kyrie 3 on Christmas Day, but that a release won't take place until January 21st.

Nike has kept all plans for the Nike Kyrie 3 under wraps but the man himself recently gave some details about when we can expect to see the kicks in action.

Per Waiting For Next Year, Irving said:

“I think we release on January 21st but I definitely will be wearing a pair of 3s for Christmas and going forward for any other holidays,” Irving said following Thursday’s shootaround. “January 21 is what we’re looking to aim at. I’m excited. I’m excited to put the product out to you guys and the stories behind the shoes and the creative behind it. I get really juiced up about it. I get to put my artistic mind to the test.”

So you can expect to see Kyrie rocking the Kyrie 2 for a few months until he and Nike officially begin the next chapter of his signature line. For what it's worth, the Kyries have been Nike's best signature basketball sneakers since they originally released so I'm excited to see what's next for the Cavs All-Star point guard.

In the meantime, fans of the Nike Kyrie 2 can look forward to a "What The" colorway, which will reportedly release in December just before the Kyrie 3 unveiling.
