The Smyrna Police Department and Krispy Kreme are both investigating an alleged incident at a Krispy Kreme donut shop in which a police officer ordered a box of donuts and received them with “Black Lives Matter” written on the box.
The photo was originally posted to the pro-police blog Blue Lives Matter in a blog post that called for the employee to be fired. Krispy Kreme has acknowledged they incident occurred and have said they are taking care of it internally. They released a statement saying, “We are continuing to investigate the matter and will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure the value of our company are upheld.”
