HBK Underdog Kool John released one of the summer's best mixtapes with Shmop City. He may not have the presence of fellow crew members Sage The Gemini and Iamsu!, but off the strength of the tape alone, he should be on a level playing field soon enough.
As is the HBK tradition, the majority of the production on the effort is in-house, and stoner jam highlight "Smoked Out" is handled by frequent collaborator Jay Ant of the invasion. The new visual for the track builds on the weeded concept, with John and his crew getting blazed in some grainy VHS footage.
