Shake Back

Kodak Black's Institution mixtape was among the many projects that dropped over the holidays, and while we're still making through the wealth of material from the likes of Tory Lanez, Gucci Mane, Key!, and Busta Rhymes, Kodak's latest release is definitely among the best releases. 

The feature-less 24-track mixtape is more of the same unapologetically southern music we've come to expect from the Floridian rapper. "Shake Batch" matches him with a colorful guitar loop, as Kodak finds the melodic centre of the sample, sticking within a pocket of complementary notes that he rides throughout.
