Killer Mike and El-P's much beloved rap group Run The Jewels, are working on their third eponymously titled album, as they have been for a minute now. The last update we received on the Run The Jewels 3 album was in March, when producer/rapper El-P told fans that the album was "halfway" done.
Well, it sounds like the album isn't entirely complete yet, but the duo are definitely making progress. In a new interview with HipHopWired, Killer Mike reveals his goal for RTJ 3. "I would like to be finished by July 7," he says of the creation process for the new album. "I would like to ball on the 4th. I think we'll be done real soon. People know when we say soon, we're trying to get it out. We want it out this year."
As for the direction of the Run The Jewels 3, Mike promises something a bit darker. "You know what were doing, were going zany. We’re going dark. I think we have some stuff that will touch your soul," he tells HHW.
