Rapper, singer, and actor Kid Cudi is a noted film and TV buff, though it's rather surprising too discover he's a devoted fan of Pee-wee Herman, the television, theater, and film character played by Paul Reubens. Herman was immensely popular in the '80s and still retains a widespread following today. For its latest episode, The Talkhouse Film podcast organized a conversation between Reubens and Cudi, which coincides with the recent Netflix premiere of "Pee-wee's Big Holiday," the first Pee-wee Herman film in almost 28 years.

Cudi and Reubens had met five years ago, and they detail their unlikely friendship on the new podcast. Also during their chat, Reubens explains his decision to bring back Pee-wee Herman, and Cudi reveals that he has written a TV pilot in which he wants Reubens to play a role. Listen to the entire episode, and watch two video clips from the conversation, below.
