Atlanta trap is already a pretty weird place. It's easy to forget how far artists like Future and Young Thug have pushed the sound into the left, and many of the other artists from the region are just doing their best to catch up. With that being said, Key! has always managed to keep his music strange and unique, while working with the same building blocks as his peers.
His new mixtape, Martin Luther Key, finds the rapper continuing to experiment, and on the Johnny Cinco-assisted "Used To," he takes things more free-form than ever. The production already has an ambient quality to it, and Key's vocals circle and repeat in a way that gives the whole song a meditative feel -- and he pulls it off magnificently.
