Last night, Key Glock opted to fire off his brand new album Son Of A Gun, and damned if he didn't open on a classy note. Case in point, a barrage of orchestral strings, played as if in a trap house by candlelight. The dope instrumental arrives courtesy of Bandplay, whose fingerprints are all over the project handling many of the hardest beats. He may have outdone himself with the title track, however, and Key Glock wastes little time in setting the tone with his introductory remarks.
"Hard head, fuck what you say, push up on em, make him skate like Lupe," spits Glock, never pushing himself beyond the point of exhaustion. "And I got them thangs on me like Hussein, paper wrap the gang, yeah, we the new wave." He doesn't have to say much to drive home his point, leaving little room for listeners to question his authenticity. "When I got my first backend, spent the half on guns," he flexes. "Rest in peace to my grandma, yeah, she raised a don."
