As predicted, Kendrick Lamar has earned his third No. 1 album. With 603,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week, DAMN. has officially logged the biggest sales week of 2017, surpassing Drake's More Life, which was credited with 505,000 album units for the week ending March 23.

DAMN.'s first-week performance is also the biggest sales week of Kendrick's career. Previously, his best effort had been To Pimp a Butterfly, which moved a reported 324,000 units in its first week of release in March 2015. DAMN. also experienced the second-largest streaming week ever for an album, with 227,000 streaming equivalent units factored into its total first-week sales. More Life holds the single-week streaming record with 257,000 streaming units.
