It's the last White House 4th of July party with Barack Obama still serving as president, and one of his favorite rappers has been selected to perform at the special event. Kendrick Lamar, whose To Pimp A Butterfly deep cut, "How Much A Dollar Cost" was Obama's favorite song of 2015 will be participating in the annual concert alongside funk/R&B singer Janelle Monae, known for her lively performances.

Politico reports that the event will take place on the White House's South Lawn, and will feature a barbecue and fireworks for staff and military heroes who will attend with their families -- doesn't sound like too bad of an Independence Day celebration if you ask us. It's all going down Monday night, and hopefully some footage makes its way online.
