Kendrick Lamar's new album is the first to top the charts with "pimp" in its title.
Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, has just set another record… kinda.
According to Billboard, To Pimp A Butterfly is the first album with “pimp” in its title to be No. 1 on the charts. Previously, the highest charting album was Pimpalation by Pimp C, which landed him a No. 3 spot in 2006.
If you’re unaware, To Pimp A Butterfly set a Spotify record the day after it dropped for most streams in 24 hours at 9.8 million, breaking Drake’s IYRTITL & then his very own. It reportedly moved an estimated 365k units in the opening week as well.
