Since summer is pretty much here, following Memorial Day Weekend, Spotify wants to get everyone hyped for the season with their Songs of Summer 2017 playlist, which was published today. Unsurprisingly, it was a showcase for the incredibly strong year hip-hop is having in general so far.
In the streaming service's predictions for the top tracks this summer, Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled unsurprisingly saw inclusions for their songs "DNA." and "I'm The One" respectively, while Future also graced the playlist with "Mask Off." Elsewhere, Lil Uzi Vert and Logic made it on the list as well, for their tracks "XO Tour Llif3" and "1-800-273-8255." Finally, Quavo and Nicki Minaj also grace the list as features.
According to Billboard, Spotify’s Songs of Summer list are reportedly chosen based on "insights from its genre and trend experts, data analysis, and factors such as a song’s performance on the charts, Spotify playlists, longevity and, of course, social media."
