Kendrick Lamar is the subject of a new lawsuit, which also names Interscope and Aftermath as plaintiffs. The lawsuit comes from a photographer who alleges Kendrick stole his image of a mother breastfeeding for the single art of his single "The Blacker The Berry" off To Pimp A Butterfly.
Giordano Cipriani, the photographer, is suing K. Dot and his labels, claiming he took the photo during a 2011 trip to Africa. He says Kendrick never asked permission to use the photo, nor did his record labels pay him for it. The lawsuit was filed July 10th in New York Federal Court according to Bossip.
Cipriani is asking the judge for an injunction to stop Kendrick from using the image, as well as damages for the unauthorized use of the image. Cipriani is a freelance photographer and says he makes his living off licensing his images-- he wants Kendrick to fork over $150,000 for each time the image was used, as well, he wants the TDE rapper to pay his lawyer fees.
