Kenan Thompson has 25 years of experience in the entertainment business. While he's been a staple on SNL in the past fifteen years, roles in the Mighty Ducks series, All That, Fat Albert, and Good Burger, helped him earn a position on the weekly variety show. According to Variety, NBC's ordered The Kenan Show to series.

There have been reports that Kenan Thompson would be starring in his own show for a while but now, it's been confirmed that The Kenan Show will be heading to NBC. Despite the new show, that doesn't mean that Thompson will be leaving SNL. Sources close to the situation said that he'll be returning to the show while working on his new show.

Thompson plays the role of a newly widowed dad who has to take on the role of both father and mother to his kids while allowing his father-in-law, who will be played by Andy Garcia, become more involved in their lives. Punam Patel, Dani Lockett, and Dana Lockett will also star in the show. Jackie Clarke serves as a writer and executive producer for the show alongside Thompson, Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer. Chris Rock will also be serving as a director and executive producer for the show.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information on Kenan Thompson's new NBC show.
