Tobias Harris #34 of the Detroit Pistons defends against Kawhi Leonard #2 of the San Antonio Spurs in the first half of an NBA game at Little Caesars Arena on December 30, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

The Laker need to step their offers up.

The biggest news in the NBA right now is LeBron James. The best basketball player in the world has decided to leave his hometown once again to venture into a warmer city. Instead of Miami Beach though, this time, James opted to take on Hollywood. He signed a 4-year, $153.3 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers this past weekend, throwing the free agency into disarray.

The San Antonio Spurs' superstar Kawhi Leonard has made it known that he would like to play for Los Angeles, even before James joined the teamed. The Lakers have been attempting to seal the deal on the big man, but it looks like the Spurs aren't impressed with the trade options they have been offered. According to The Ringerleague sources are claiming that the Lakers trade offers are "underwhelming," with one executive saying the proposals have been "flat-out unacceptable." Apparently, the Lakers trade offers are getting worse as time progresses, which means if they want to acquire Leonard, something has to change, fast. There is little doubt that Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and the team's management will be more reluctant to trade Leonard within the same division now that James has planted his feet in LA.
