Ever since Kawhi Leonard requested a trade from the Spurs and became a member of the Toronto Raptors, fans have been anticipating the former Finals MVP's return to San Antonio. On Thursday, fans will finally get to see that happen as the Raptors take on the Spurs in San Antonio at 8 P.M. EST. It's not just the fans who are excited about the game as Leonard himself has commented on the hype.

“It’s going to be fun,” Leonard told Raptors Report. “Everybody is anticipating the game and things like that can only get me better for the long run, so it’s going to be a good game.”

The comments came after the Raptors defeated the Utah Jazz on Tuesday by a score of 122-116. Leonard dropped 45 points in the game, adding six rebounds and one assist.

Leonard requested a trade from the Spurs after he became unhappy with the team's medical staff. The all-star was suffering from a quadriceps injury and was upset at how the team was treating it, which led him to seek a second opinion elsewhere. Leonard only played nine games last season and while he is playing full-time with the Raptors, the squad has sat him out a couple games so he doesn't re-aggravate the injury.
