It was a shocking development on Sunday when the Minnesota Timberwolves decided to fire head coach and Team President Tom Thibodeau despite a 22-point blowout against the Los Angeles Lakers. In the aftermath of the firing, some Timberwolves players are giving their take on the move, one of whom was Karl-Anthony Towns.

According to ESPN, Towns had told the coaching staff just last week that he was happy with how the team had finally found some "stability" and were gaining a bit of traction.

"I jinxed that badly," Towns said in relation to his comments last week. "We had just celebrated a good win, so we all went home thinking the day was over. It was just beginning." Towns as well as teammate Andrew Wiggins were told about the firing by phone, and were reportedly not given a solid answer as to why.

Derrick Rose also commented on the situation saying:

"I'm hurt because Thibs is not here. But, at the same time, I'm very cool with Ryan. And I've talked to him before and after practice. And I told him to run with this opportunity. But with Thibs, like, he took a chance on me when a couple of organizations had s----ed on me."

The Timberwolves will play their first game without Thibodeau tonight at 8 P.M. EST against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
