Over a week a go, Kanye West debuted two new songs within a few hours of each other. The rapper kicked off with the release of "Lift Yourself," a song which he had promised "bars" on. Clearly, that was just one massive troll. However, it was another testament to Kanye's impact and influence as an artist. For over 24 hours, people were talking about his "poopy-di scoop" bars that 'Ye delivered on the track which was clearly just a way to get people to talk on 'Ye's part. One week later, and it seems to have almost debuted on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kanye West's "Lift Yourself" didn't land on the Billboard Hot 100 but it was damn close. According to chartdata, the single managed to hit #5 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. This means that Kanye's biggest troll to date was actually streamed enough times to nearly chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Chartdata also reports that it sold 4K equivalent units as of earlier today.
Aside from "Lift Yourself" nearly landing on the songs chart, the actual song he dropped with T.I., "Ye Vs. The People," is sitting at number 85 on the charts.
While the rapper's two singles didn't strike the way many expected, he recently joined Lil Uzi Vert on Travis Scott's new single, "Watch." That will likely sit much higher on the charts upon it's debut.
