Kanye West may not have shown much attention to XXXTentacion while the artist was alive but he's making sure to do his best to keep his memory strong. XXX was an incredibly impactful artist during his short career. Kanye noted recently that his history of violence toward women made him hesitate to ever show love to the Florida rapper but considering he now knows that X was working hard to make a change in his life, he's singing a different tune. Ye has even worn and designed a t-shirt with XXX's likeness on the front, which was sold on the late rapper's official webshop. Ski Mask the Slump God spoke out on his friend's passing earlier today and now, Kanye is doing his part to keep the narrative on XXXTentation.
"Xxx the 18th your energy is with us," wrote the legendary artist as he continues to work on his next album in Africa. He included a photo of X in the post - the same one he used on the t-shirt - and added in a few praying emojis. Some have critiqued Kanye as a clout chaser for his recent outspoken appreciation for XXXTentacion but an argument is to be made that a large number of folks only found his music after he had passed away.
