Last week, many people believed that Chance The Rapper was going to be running for the mayor of Chicago after he announced a press conference at City Hall. He ultimately announced that he'd be backing candidate Amara Eniya for Chicago mayor. It looks like his endorsement has already proven to be successful as it was recently revealed that Kanye West donated $75K to her campaign.

Kanye West made a massive donation to Amara Eniya who's currently running in the race to become the next mayor of Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports. 'Ye donated exactly $73,540 to her campaign which is the exact total of fines that Eniya faced from the Illinois State Board Of Elections in connection to her brief campaign stint for mayor in 2015. Her campaign verified that 'Ye's donation was used to pay off the fines. They released a statement reading, "the $73,540 debt to the Illinois State Board of Elections has been paid in full."

"The Amara Enyia campaign thanks Chicago native, Kanye West for his generous action," the statement reads. "Amara’s campaign is energizing people around the city with bold ideas and solutions that move Chicago forward. We are excited to engage people of all walks of life as we focus our efforts on getting on the ballot."

It's unsure why Kanye decided to drop the large sum of money on her campaign, but clearly, Kanye feels like Eniya is the right candidate to be the next mayor of Chicago.
