Lil Wayne is using Kanye West's seemingly innate ability to create something genius for his upcoming album, I Am Not A Human Being II. However, it's not Kanye's musical input he's using, it's his artistic and marketing ability.
While Lil Wayne is currently prepping the album, and he has revealed that Kanye is designing the entire album packaging. Wayne had said in a previous interview with MTV that 'Ye had a "big hand" in crafting I Am Not A Human Being II. Many understood this as in the production-side of things, but Weezy has now clarified that statement with MTV.
"He didn’t do any music on this album but ‘Ye is actually packaging my album," Lil Wayne explained, "You probably gotta ask him because it was his idea. I was just like ‘okay, do whatever,’ because I don’t do nothing but rapping. You can ask all the people that work with me, they’ll tell you ‘man, he don’t do nothin’ but the music,’ that’s all I do man. That’s all I know about."
He further clarified what he meant by packaging, "What I mean by packaging is he’s gonna do the album cover, the inside, all that," Weezy revealed. "He wanted that, he said ‘I wanna package Wayne’s album,’ so I already know my album package is gonna be crazier than [the album]. You ain’t even gotta hear it, you gonna love just seeing it."
Lil Wayne says he's going to let Kanye be Kanye, and he knows the result will be dope. "I’ma let ‘Ye do what he do," he joked, adding, "If it ain’t nothing out of the box crazy, but ‘Ye is ‘Ye. He’s a genius."
We'll have to wait til early 2013 to see the final result.
