Kanye West describes his upcoming album on Big Boy Radio.
Famed L.A. radio personality Big Boy was recently inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame, and today, he received a congratulatory phone call from a future member of a few different HOF's: Kanye West.
During the phone call, in between exchanging words of praise, Big Boy was able to get a few soundbites on SWISH, West's upcoming album. When asked on the status of the album, West said, "I've been working slow. I've had awhile to work on it. I separated a couple of tracks on my album and gave them to other people," proceeding to reveal that Rihanna's "FourFiveSeconds" and The Weeknd's "Tell Your Friends," both of which he produced, were originally meant for SWISH.
He went on to liken the album to a "sonic painting" and explained he's coming closer to finding the "language" best suited for the album, which will be his 7th official LP. He was also asked about his recent live rendition of his 4th album, 808s & Heartbreak, and how critics initially trashed the album, which, he says, eventually "became the sound of radio."
Travi$ Scott recently recently told Zane Lowe that SWISH is coming "very soon." It certainly sounds like Kanye is in no rush, but we can't wait to experience the "sonic painting" whenever it does arrive.
