Steve Lacy, known primarily for his work as a member of The Internet, has become a regular songwriter and producer for hire, making memorable contributions to recent albums from GoldLink and Kendrick Lamar. On Friday, he showed up on Kali Uchis' impressive debut album Isolation, and the chemistry between himself and Kali, previously demonstrated on "Only Girl," makes it one of the collection's strongest tracks. The funky lead in the verses is reminiscent of Pharrell at his most adventurous, and Lacy actually takes over the majority of the hook, but when Kali does enter with a descending melody, it all comes together beautifully.

Kali's project also features guest appearances from the likes of Jorja Smith, Tyler, The Creator, and Bootsy Collins. You can stream the fill project here.

Last year, Steve Lacy released a demo project made up of songs recorded through his iPhone. A new project from The Internet is expected later this year.

Quotable Lyrics:
She's a hurricane, feel the earth shake
If the devil was asleep
She'd knock him wide awake
And if you were her, you'd never know
I think you'd do it too
But if it takes one to know one
You must not have a clue
