Lucas uses the children as a conduit for his lyrics as they lip sync verses; the boy to his father and the girl to her mother.
Both parents are stuck in a endless cycle they kids realize, whether substance abuse or searching for love in the wrong places. Lucas's lyrics highlight their shortcomings, shedding light onto parental decisions and how our actions shape our youth. The song is truly one of substance.
