Days ago, the general public witnessed R. Kelly put on a helluva performance during his exclusive Gayle King. Shortly before he joined the CBS anchor in the booth, his two alleged girlfriends Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage did the same.
Their message was clear: R. Kelly is their shared love interest until they both choose to relinquish their roles. Many in the press, believe Clary and Savage are speaking the words of individuals who've been brainwashed against their will.
Since the original Gayle King interviews went to air, the CBS anchor has arranged for another round of coverage, this time centered around the perspective of Joycelyn Savage's parents Timothy and Jonjelyn. The interview was sandwiched in a broader expose highlighting the parents' reclamation efforts.
"I have never met Mr. Kelly," Timothy said King in an interview which aired this morning on CBS. "Never in my entire life met Mr. Kelly. I've only talked to him one time on the phone. And that one time, you know what he told me? He said, 'You gonna have to wait to see your daughter. Trust the process.' How can you tell another father to trust the process, but you rappin' and ravin' on TV that you wanna see your kids, but you won't allow me to see my own daughter. How do you think that makes me feel as a father?"
Joycelyn's father Tim was the more vocal of the two parents. His reproach of R. Kelly included him forsaking the singer to his rightful place in jail, his exact words: he would be pleased to watch R. Kelly "rot in jail" while they earnestly try for a reconciliation with their daughter.
"I'm sorry, that's just the way I feel," he said. "He needs help, but this man has done so many women wrong and he needs to rot in that jail cell. Period."
R. Kelly will remain jailed until he or his confidantes secure the $160,000 freedom bond. With all that said, Joycelyn's parents still face an uphill battle mending the fence with their daughter, because, in some respects, they might be somewhat responsible for pushing her in his direction, almost vicariously in the hopes she might galvanize her "singing potential" outside their nest. Rest assured, the Feds literally are hard at work, sussing it out.
