Jorja Smith is very much in her element when she is fronting a live band with the lights dimmed. Her cover of Rihanna's "Man Down" in the Live Lounge expertly blends the chorus of Cardi B's "Be Careful" into the second verse. Make no mistake about it, Jorja Smith is not turning herself into a glorified little big band cover star, the likes of which we see pandering to the masses YouTube.
Jorja followed up her stripped down version of "Man Down" with a performance of "Blue Lights" and several of her other singles. You could say she made a night out of it. Jorja is poised to make her mark in 2018. Lost & Found drops at midnight, and early signs point to an album with dream-like quality. The 21 year old, still coming to grips with her own talents, hopes to prove her traditional orchestral feel can be a hit with hip hop audiences on both sides of the pond.
