Johnny Manziel Reacts To AAF Ceasing Operations, Tells Players Not To Sue

It's a sad day for the players who wanted a second shot at glory.

The Alliance of America Football was meant to be a developmental league where players who struggled to make an NFL roster could go to build themselves up and hopefully put themselves in a position to get back into the league. Unfortunately, after only eight weeks of games, the sad news broke today that the league has seized operations and is looking for a solution to avoid folding. It's a gutting development for the players who have put their heart and soul into the league.

One of the newest additions to the league was former Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel. Manziel signed with the Memphis Express and only appeared in two games before this news broke. The former Cleveland Brown took to Twitter to react to the news and urged players to not take legal action against the league.

"Just the reality of this unfortunate situation.. great concept, good football on the field and fun for fans to watch. Just not enough money to go around which has been the main problem with “other” leagues for a long time," Manziel added.

It's clear that Manziel is disappointed about it all but his response is fairly level-headed considering what just happened. Players will surely be seeking damages for their lost salaries and missed opportunities. It will be interesting to see if the players take Manziel's advice.
