Jackson passed away on June 27 at 89-years-old from terminal cancer, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry in his wake. As father to Janet and Michael, he helped foster the careers of two very integral performers and musical artists in history. However, many have called out Jackson for his particularly strict upbringing, as he resorted to physical abuse in order to keep his children's focused on a career in show business, using a strap to help "keep them out of jail and keep them right."
Paris Jackson took to social media to lament the death of her grandfather. "You are the strongest man i know. your life’s work will go down in history, as will you, to be known as one of the greatest patriarchs to ever live," she wrote. "I will cherish every moment with you til the day i die, especially our last moments."
