Atlanta simply cannot be stopped right now. The rate with which the ATL scene keeps producing rappers, who in turn keep producing mixtapes, is astronomical. Few can really dispute that in terms of sheer quantity, Atlanta has been  putting more than their fair share of numbers on the board. Enter Joe Gifted, an ATL emcee who formerly went by the moniker of "Joe Gutta." Gifted actually got his first piece of the spotlight during an appearance on BET's 106 & Park "Wild Out Wednesdays," a competition which he won in 2009. Now, Gifted has made his mark on the game with the release of his new mixtape From Gutta 2 Gifted.

It seems like Gifted is making a serious push for stardom, as the rapper has also dropped a remix to his breakout single "Water," featuring Atlanta heavyweights Quavo and Gucci Mane. While that track is not on this project, you can (and should) check it out right here. Aside from that, From Gutta 2 Gifted encapsulate's Joe's journey, coming through with that double meaning. While he literally changed his name from Gutta to Gifted, it's also a metaphor for how he came from the bottom, now he's enjoying the benefits of success in the game.

Songs like "I Deserve It," seem to confirm that notion, as he seems more than happy to bask in his current lavish lifestyle. Over some hard production from Will A Fool, Gifted spits triumphant bars with a solid flow and delivery, blending melodies, ad-libs, and lyricism with a capable hand. Yet Joe isn't all about basking in the victories, as he's no stranger to losses. On one of the project's strongest cuts, "Losses," finds Joe reflecting on some of the trials and tribulations he faced over the course of his life. Overall, the album is a personal one, with plenty of high points and solid Atlanta production.
