One of the most cringe-worthy moments, if not -the- most cringe-worthy, from the BET Awards this past weekend was the mess of an interview between DJ Akademiks, Joe Budden and Migos for Complex. In the clip that spread across the internet following the awards show, we see DJ Akademiks badger Takeoff with a few 'what you say?' before Joe insists they wrap things up, and then abruptly gets up and exits the interview, leaving Quavo, Takeoff and Offset to stand up in quick succession and move to confront Joe.
Joe decided to elaborate further on the incident on his own podcast (where else) and in the process, takes a shot at his co-host Akademiks. "They've [Migos] inherited a Yachty beef towards me," Joe prefaces things with.
"Akademiks is one of the biggest pussies I've ever seen in my entire life," Joe states bluntly, "He should never comment on anything that has to do with physicality." Joe adds, "Well, you gotta stop talking sometimes when you pussy, is what I mean."
Budden goes on to reiterate something he said in another interview, that he's never seen a "good" Migos interview, and he said such to Complex, letting them know he had no interest in interviewing the rap trio-- thus he "gave" it to Akademiks, whom from the sounds of it, was basically just unprepared for the environment.
"So Migos get up there, and they shady from the jump. They not dappin n*ggas, they got attitudes. So really? This is what you wanted to fuckin interview?" he says during the podcast.
