JMSN has been showing an unparalleled progression when it comes to his music releases, not only that, he's been extremely consistent with the quality and the time between each release. As a fan, it's great to watch/hear. The latest album from the bluesy-r'n'b singer is titled Whatever Makes U Happy, impacting almost exactly a year since It Is.
Whatever Makes U Happy is subdued (not that you would necessarily expect otherwise from JMSN), laden with jazzy guitar strings and piano keys, creating a relaxed but lush soundscape throughout. One of the standouts upon first listen is "Slide," which has a catchy guitar loop and a southern twang to it, and as it progresses the layered female vocals and the urgency of the string instruments create a gospel-esque feel.
