This is one for the people who showed towels under their door cracks. In the wake of his impressive DiCaprio 2, JID has teamed up with Method Man and Joey Bada$$ for a veritable budsmoker's anthem, bridging the gap between legend and up-and-comer through a herbal common ground. Off the bat, producers Zorro & SkyheHutch channel some golden-era RZA production, looping a reverberated piano loop, bordering on dissonant in its chord progression. JID sets things off with a smooth verse, before passing it off to the legendary M-E-T-H.

"Light a booger up, wedgie in the butt," spits Method Man, setting an amusing tone for the fire to come. His flow remains impeccable, as he masterfully depicts feuding with his connect over delivered THC content, or lack thereof. Joey Bada$$ closes out the proceedings, a lyricist closer in both age and spirit as JID; it's honestly nice to hear Bada$$ back in the mix, as he's been relatively quiet in recent memory.

It's entirely possible that JID saw the video above, in which Method Man and Black Though exchange bars over JID's "Never" instrumental. "Keep that beat on," said Method Man, "that's JID, he's the man!" From that point, a collaboration seemed inevitable, as real still tend to recognize real like days of yore. In that sense, seeing JID link with Method Man and Joey Bada$$ prove that intergenerational respect is a must in hip-hop, especially moving forward. Seeing as the genre itself remains relatively young, it's not entirely clear what a vet's career trajectory might look like. In Meth's case, it's clear he can still hang with damn near anybody. Who wouldn't want to share a toke with Tical?

Quotable Lyrics

She pushing up her bra, like cookies looking cushy in the jaw
Told her book me, hit the nookie up tomorrow
See police be tryna book me 'cause they put me in Segal
You's a rookie, I'ma boogie 'fore you put me in the car
I got beef with my connect, I'm vexed
'Cause you see his THC is not correct, I think he should not collect
Not upset, I ain't trippin', what, he pitchin' out his best
